ImageUS Army veteran Joseph W.  Pletzke was the featured speaker at the noon Oak Forest Rotary Club meeting on Tuesday, March 6th at the Midlothian Country Club.  Joe has been a volunteer member of the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Memorial Squad fore the past 10 years.  Joe explained the qualifications necessary to be buried in the National Cemetery located in Elwood Il.  (Anyone who has served in the military and was honarably discharged is eligible for burial at no charge to the veteran or his family family.)  Joe exlplained the steps involved and how the service is conducted for the family and friends of those who have honorably served their country.

 

 Rotarian Dr Joe O'Donnell announced it was the most interesting program we have had in awhile, everyone agreed.  Joe Pletzke is also a member of the Oak Forest Veterans Commission, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and Oak Forest Emergency Managment.  He is truly someone who makes a difference.
