Rotary Provides Dictionaries to Kids in Need
The Oak Forest Rotary Club provided hard cover dictionaries to third graders in some local schools. Rotarian Tom Hoogland is the Vocational Service Director for the club and he is the Field Director for Boy Scouts of America, Calumet Council. Through his work in Scouts he identified two schools he works with in Harvey, the Sandberg School and the Washington School. The Rotary Club also provided dictionaries to Loerenzo R. Smith School third graders and the school’s library in Hopkins Park IL.
A special thank you is extended to Kevin and Dan Walsh, of Children’s Plus Inc. Beecher IL, for making the donation possible. The club would also thank the building principals, Dr. Sophia Jones-Redmond, Dr. Earnest Taylor and Mr. Howard Coleman for their cooperation with this project for their schools.
