Our Club is always in need of families who would like to host an Inbound Exchange Student, which we would like to host during the 2006-2007 school year. If you are interested in hosting an exchange student, please contact our representatives below:

To be a Youth Exchange Student, you must: · Age: between 16 and 18 1/2 on departure date · Sponsored by the Oak Forest Rotary Club · Student interviewed, usually held in November of the year prior to the exchange.
Contact the local Rotary Club Youth Exchange Officer to see if the club will sponsor you. Complete application form found on the web at <www.csrye.org> and then be sure you download forms for District 6450.

Additional information: · Duration of exchange : Usually August - to the following July, 10-11 months · Paid by student and parent to Rotary approximately $850, insurance and training. · Round trip flight arranged by Rotary, paid by parents from Chicago to host country estimate $900-$1500

The Oak Forest Rotary recently hosted Sophie Mahoungou from Poitiers, France. Sophie stayed with three Oak Forest families over an 11 month period ending July 2007. During her stay Sophie was a student at Oak Forest high school, visited zoos, museums, concerts, plays, attended White Sox, Bulls and Hawks games. Sophie also toured the Western States on a two week bus tour. Our club found Sophie to be a complete joy to have with us and the very best ambassador of France. We love Sophie dearly and wish her the very best as she has returned home to continue her studies and pursue her dreams!. |
